Community Involvement

“To make a lifelong difference in people’s lives”

First State Bank is here to “make a lifelong difference in people’s lives” and the bank continually strives to achieve this not only by offering products and services that allow community members to reach their full potential, but also through charitable giving, sponsorships and volunteerism in the communities they serve.

The employees of First State Bank take great pride in participating in civic activities that are held in the area throughout the year, including festivals, parades and community events. As a community bank, we are a proud supporter of the county fairs and local schools in all of the counties we serve. First State Bank is involved in the Chamber of Commerce of Adams, Brown, Highland, Fayette and Clinton Counties as well as the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. Our team members provide leadership in a variety of ways, from serving on local boards, community and church groups and involvement in sporting programs and social events.

Give Back Program

In 2015, First State Bank implemented a company-wide initiative to “give back” to the communities it serves through employee volunteerism. Since that time, every year nearly 130 employees donate their time and talents to non-profit organizations across Adams, Brown, Clinton, Fayette, Highland, Hamilton, Lawrence and Martin Counties. As our organization continues to grow, so will the area and organizations with which we partner.

“At First State Bank, our mission is to ‘make a lifelong difference in people’s lives.’ And one way we accomplish this is by volunteering with these vital organizations that do so much to enrich the lives of local residents,” said Pell. “As a locally owned and operated community bank, we decided it was important for our people to get involved and help make a difference locally.”
